SOULFUL SONGWRITER BROOKE GRAHAM RELEASES BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘MERRYACHI CHRISTMAS’ 10/21 Celebrated Texas-based country singer shines as an interpreter with buoyant new take on future holiday classic cut with Santa in Cabo.
Port Aransas, TX – Brooke Graham crafts personal narratives with equal measures soul (“Me and Ol’ Willie”) and swagger (“Fredericksburg Saturday Night”). Evidence: Pedigree. The singular songwriter’s seamless debut collection deftly offered sharp songwriting backed by pulsating rhythm section throughout (“Fruit Stand”). Now, the sixth generation Texan proves she’s an equally adept interpreter with the brand-new single “Merryachi Christmas,” produced by songwriter David Norris and Nashville based music industry veteran Jimmy Collins. The buoyant holiday song – released October 21 on Collins’ Flying C Records – celebrates seasonal heart and hope.
“We dream of a snow white Christmas all year long it seems,” Graham sings. “The way it’s falling down, it’s as perfect as can be.” “I still believe in Santa Claus,” she says. “Naturally, I jumped on the opportunity to record a song celebrating a ‘Merryachi Christmas with Santa in Cabo. One of the song’s co-writers David Norris has a brilliant mind and an eclectic, professional background in composing and arranging music for video games and cartoons. I wait with open ears for David to send me songs to consider recording and am so grateful I was able to record his, Corey Lee Barker and Alyson Michelle Cutter’s great tune ‘Merryachi Christmas.’”
Graham has established herself as a top-tier upcoming singer-songwriter throughout her native Texas by effortlessly capturing views and attitudes of a Southern, homegrown woman. Folks notice. “I can see why her song ‘Me Time’ took Brooke to Florida,” legendary songwriter Rodney Crowell says. “Well done, Brooke. Keep writing.” “I have known Brooke for a while,” echoes singer-songwriter Houston Marchman. “Brooke always has something special to say as a songwriter. She always works on her songwriting craft by continually writing from her experience.”
Witness Pedigree (2013), which landed a nomination for 2014 female vocalist of the year by the Academy of Texas Country Music. Her inspiration remains straightforward. “Putting a thought to a guitar is where the spark happens for me,” Graham says. “Living life and embracing the moments enough to make them a memory for someone else through a song is such a rewarding passion.”
